A Bit About Me
Hello!
My name is John McClenny, and I have been passionate about pianos for as long as I can remember. My journey began in high school, where I taught myself to play the piano thanks to my natural ability to play by ear. This skill not only allowed me to explore music independently but also gave me a keen ear for identifying out-of-tune instruments, which would later become invaluable in my career.
When I got to college, I rented a little townhouse and bought a used upright Yamaha piano from a friend who was moving. The piano needed some work, and I decided to learn everything I could to restore it myself. The process was incredibly rewarding, and after successfully restoring and reselling that old Yamaha, I knew I had found my calling. I had so much fun working on that piano that I decided to pursue a career in piano technology.
To turn my passion into a profession, I enrolled in the Piano Technician Academy, where I received comprehensive training in tuning, voicing, and regulation. Now, at 23 years old, I’ve been fortunate to spend over a decade around pianos, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and refining my craft.
When I’m not working on pianos, you’ll likely find me behind the keys, creating music, writing my own compositions, or discovering new ways to deepen my craft. I look forward to sharing my passion and expertise with you, ensuring your piano remains a source of joy and inspiration.

My goal is to provide exceptional service and bring out the very best in every piano I have the privilege to work on.
I’m an absolute piano enthusiast, passionate about everything related to these incredible instruments. Seeing pianos carelessly destroyed in action movies? It’s like a dagger to my soul! More importantly, I’m driven by the desire to help others experience the pure joy I felt when I restored my piano and finally heard it come to life, sounding exactly as it was meant to.
